Need Help PERMANENTLY deleting text messages

For some reason my Q suddenly stopped sending text messages to any of my contacts, instead when I press send it comes up with an error message saying the text could not be sent. I can still receive tectx but just can't send any. I know my phone is very low on available storage space because it keeps telling me this every time I turn it on, so I tried deleting all of my old text messages cos I have tons of them. I went to each folder and selected the "delete all" to completely empty it, but for some reason every time I turn my phone back on ALL those messages re-appear!!! I have tried this 5 times, how do I permanently get rid of them? Any suggestions? All help much appreciated!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for responding with siggestions, but the problem still persists....

I have tried deleting them all and then resetting my phone immediately, I have also tried waiting overnight, I have also tried waiting anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and have also tried letting the battery run completely dead.... none of which have worked. I deleted photos on my phone to free up memory, so I can now send texts again, but this text messaging problem is still persisting, any ideas?

I tried all the suggestions posted in replies to this thread, there is nothing showing up in the "deleted items" folder, and I also tried accessing messaging from the Windows menu, but it just brought me back to my usual messaging screen with no further options??

weird problem
Mine is the opposite, if I take battery out or such or do not shut down properly
Recent text messages, emails, do not save
this is bad especially when the phone is frozen!

I tried Task Manager end "text messaging" that might help
seems to save settings without doing a shut down
