Default OZFR when i press Shift Key

Ok this has been reported before with NO resolution on every post i have found after days of searching. I had a Q for 2 years about and it was great, then the center select button started pressing itself nonstop so i needed to get a replacement, which i did from verizon. it actually looked like it was a new unit and not a refurb.

i loaded everything on and then i realized when i press shift about 80% of the time it enters OZFR. The other 20% it works fine. No other keys are doing this. I tried deleting the dictionary and turning off completion.

I tried searching to see if OZFR is some kind of virus but i couldnt find it. I also ran kaspersky on the phone and it was clear. I thought maybe the virus came from some random program or freeware program or something i loaded on the phone.

I dont know if i should send this replacement back or what. I read that master resets DONT work with this issue. I have verizon and have MOL4 the latest software.

(my ne2 is available and i am thinking of getting the 9c but i dont know if its worth it since i have this phone and its supposed to be the same pretty much and i definetly dont need vznavigator or wifi - was thinking of looking at that new vx9800 or 6900 or whatever it is, but i dont know if i like the virtual keyboard)

If Master Resets don't fix it, there is likely a problem with the keyboard. either water under the keys (not pointing fingers, just listing a possibility) or something else that is causing a short on those keys.
even without navigation software the Q9c is a nice phone (although no WiFi)

i would agree but ozfr are no where near each other. if they were all near shift it would be different. plus this phone is brand new, it was 10 min out of the box so it didnt even have time for getting wet.

Yeah the keyboard breaks REALLY easily, my keyboard would type "8" if I pressed down and "4" if I pressed home. Trade in for a new phone.

It was probably because it was refurbished. My first Q was the same, went to my provider, signed the contract and everything took it home, started noticing it would randomly just shut off for no reason.

They had told me that the first guy who had the phone said it didn't work, the sales guy said "He probably just didn't know how to work the phone, but we sent it to Motorola and they said it worked fine." I told them it kept resetting randomly, they replaced, and I haven't had any troubles since.

Never trust a refurbished phone, lol

as long as they are refurbished correctly they work great. A large percentage of components in the phone will not pass QA once they are used, so usually aside from the case, screen, keypad (not the key contacts) it's pretty much a new phone.

But then everyone has different experiences
