I talked with Verizon Technical Service about this earlier this week.
The "automatic synchronization suspended" message is triggered by their system, and it may be due to the version on their system being different from your Q. You can go to
http://ota.wsync.com and download the latest version. In order to fix it completely, Verizon recommends doing a master reset on the phone. Just make sure you have everything backed up first.
After you get the update installed, run WirelessSync on your phone, tell it you already have an account and provide the log in information. It should work fine.
Just a word to the wise, make sure that you have the ActiveSync settings appropriate (if you use that at all) so that you don't end up with duplicates on the Q.
BTW, if you want the 800 number, dial *611 from your phone, navigate to technical service and they will give you the number to call from something other than your cell phone. I don't remember it off the top of my head.
