Default outlook problems/hotmail problems...strange message.

Hi, new to the forum here.
I have had numerous problems recently with my outlook email. Out of the blue it stopped working. I received one final email entitled "automatic synchronization suspended." Whenever I delete this message, it just resends it, but I no longer receive any of my outlook emails otherwise. The email also tells me to go into wireless sync, then to type in my phone number and password. When I do this, it tells me that authorization has failed. I keep encountering this problem, and I can't access any of my emails at all. This has been going on forover a week. This is confusing to me, as I had set up this password with a Verizon representative, and it has worked in the past. This is rather frustrating, as I selected this phone so that I could receive my outlook emails. Another question, I also have a hotmail account. I receive probably less than half of those on my q. I just want to be able to get both my outlook and hotmail emails without problem. Has anyone encountered similar problems? How did you go about solving them if so. There was a Verizon 1-800 number that I called to help sync my phone initially, might anyone that number? any help would be appreciated. thank you.

Ok I may not be able to help too much because I do not use wireless sync. However, lets get some more info: you have two email accounts, one hotmail and the second is a work exchange server?

I talked with Verizon Technical Service about this earlier this week.

The "automatic synchronization suspended" message is triggered by their system, and it may be due to the version on their system being different from your Q. You can go to http://ota.wsync.com and download the latest version. In order to fix it completely, Verizon recommends doing a master reset on the phone. Just make sure you have everything backed up first.

After you get the update installed, run WirelessSync on your phone, tell it you already have an account and provide the log in information. It should work fine.

Just a word to the wise, make sure that you have the ActiveSync settings appropriate (if you use that at all) so that you don't end up with duplicates on the Q.

BTW, if you want the 800 number, dial *611 from your phone, navigate to technical service and they will give you the number to call from something other than your cell phone. I don't remember it off the top of my head.

hey,
I ended up doing a reset, I had everything backed up. Once I did that I went through the provided brochure method of setting up my outlook and it went fine. Thanks for responding. I have had trouble with activesync recently as well, for somer reason it had stopped responding to my device. But as far as the outlook is concerned, it has been fixed. thanks again.

Glad it worked for you. For some reason the new version of wireless sync (it has to be this, as nothing else on my phone has changed) conflicts with ActiveSync, giving me errors, but then working okay. Annoying, but not a functional problem.

Ned: I'm having the same problem. Did you ever get it sorted out?

Thanks!

I did get it fixed: I switched to a Blackberry Curve.

Sorry.

The Q and other Microsoft driven handhelds I have used (Samsung i760, Palm 700p, 6700) just aren't capable of competing. I hated making the move, but now that I did, I am never going back.
