Default One sad monkey

I switched from the Treo to the Q because the Treo always crashed and it drove me nuts.

Well, my Q crashes a lot, and it's driving me nuts.

I don't have much 3rd party stuff installed on it, but I suspect Pocket Player is related to the crashes since they almost always happen when it is in use.

Most of the crashes require me to remove the battery to resume any functionality.

My question is: Other than Windows Media Player, are there only two other MP3 players available for the Q? I have used both Vito Audio Player and Pocket Player.

Vito is ok, but the options are very limited, and the controls are quite impractical. For example, to change the volume, you need to first scroll the wheel to the volume zone and then press left/right. Without looking at the screen you can't be sure which "zone" you're in. It's nuts. If you could map certain functions to the keys you want, Vito would be great.

Pocket Player has many amazing features, and let's you configure the buttons any way you want. This feature is important to me as it allows me to control Play/Pause and volume using the side controls while the Q is in the holster. The only problem is.... I think Pocket Player is causing my Q to crash a lot for reasons unknown.

So... are there any other MP3 players out there that I can try?

TCPMP is the only media player to use

You can find it on Google. There's also a more advanced version you can buy. Here.

I second that. I think it is wrong that Verizon is able to control what works on my Q but there is a solution. Here is the link to TCPMP I used to get my wav files, hope it helps.

There doesn't seem to be a trial version of the advanced version, or any way to try it. Do you have it? Do you know if you map the button as to allow Play/Pause and Volume to work from the side buttons?

TCPMP 0.72RC1 seems to be the version of choice. Unfortunately, I deleted my copy of it yesterday.... but if you hunt around, it's out there.
