Default Non Motorola wall chargers

I have a spare (USB) wall charger for HTC Apache - Sprint 6700. Can that charger be used to charge the Q? Or do we need to stick to OEM wall chargers? What are the drawbacks of Non OEM chargers?

Don't know the answer to yours, but I have a Blackberry 8703e from work and I was given a wall and car charger for it too. I use it all the time to charge my Q and vice versa with the Q charger for the BB. Hope this helps.

i am pretty sure you can use it... why not read the output and compare with the original Q charger.

I use my old razr chargers for my Q, it takes a little longer to charge as the output is different, but they work.
unless the battery is totally dead, then the only thing that I have found that works is the OEM charger. Found that out the hard way when my phone died and went to charge it using the razr charger, go the white screen of death and no charge. i did a master reset not without thinking of changing chargers

I have found that the Q will only accept chargers that provide a power level between 5V/250ma and 5V/800ma.

I would think they wouldn't charge on non motorola chargers. Mine won't charge off a non motorola USB cable so there must be something different about the Moto ones.

Im talking about when your battery is so low that you cant turn your phone on, etc.
