Default No service indicator

I am new to Sprint and new to the Moto Q. Today I noticed that my phone said I had no svc in an area I have always had very good svc with my Verizon phone. I noticed however, that I would get calls and when they came in I would have 3-4 bars, but as soon as the call ended the indicator would show no svc again. I noticed the same thing when I placed a call - when I hit send it would show 3-4 bars and connect the call, and then go back to no svc when I ended the call. On my train home from work I thought to try restarting the phone, and when it came back up it seemed to be back to normal.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have an explanation of any sort?

Well its done it again. I was flipping through my calendar as I was waiting to get off the train this morning. I had no svc in the station, but that's to be expected. I noticed, however, that I when I got up to my office the phone still showed that I had no svc. I placed it on my desk and called it from my office phone. The call went directly into voice mail. Without moving the phone I dialed my office from my the Q and it went through and showed 3/4 bars. Still without moving, the phone I powered it off and back on again, and it now shows 4/4 bars of svc. This is getting frustrating.

Probably need to return your phone to Sprint for a "software update"....LOL! That was what they told me 5 times a week when we had them... worst service I ever have seen. Dumped them and never looked back.

Sorry I know I didn't help your problems -- but you probably DO need to go see Sprint and see what they'll do for you.

Well this thing may be going back after all. I haven't really had to leave my desk yet this morning and the phone has remained in the same position. The svc indicator reads full svc, I have been sending and receiving emails and texts just fine, but at least two calls that I know of have gone directly to VM.
