Newbie Has Several Questions, Please! Being new to Smartphones and broadband here are several questions: 1) Verizon states in their contract, “If you exceed 5 GB/line/month, we presume use is for non-permitted uses and will terminate service.” Can someone please explain, in easy terms, what this means? 2) How many kilo or mega bites are in a gigabyte? 3) Someone on the site said as you download applications and e-mail attachments this process uses “data” that goes towards your monthly total. Generally speaking, how many “bytes” does opening a standard e-mail use? 4) How many “bytes” are used when surfing the web on the Q? 5) When downloading music, video, and 3rd party applications, you are incurring “bytes” correct, how can you tell how much of the 5GB total you are using? 6) What happens if they terminate service? 7) Someone said you receive 2000 E-mails for free. What does this mean? Do you get charged after that? 8) What’s up with this 2000 free text messages plan? 9) If you sign up for “alerts” on V-text.com, is each alert you receive charged as one incoming text counting against your monthly total? 10) Can your Q get a virus from either opening an E-mail attachment or loading software, like your home computer can? Do you need anti-virus software downloaded to your Q? Sorry, I know this is a lot of questions. Any and all feed back will be truly appreciated. I thank you all in advance for your responses!! |
