My IT Dept just issued me a Q. Not a 9c, just a MotoQ (according to the sticker under the battery). It appears to be running v5 of Windows. I have a few questions, the intent being to see if this is going to be the right thing for me to use, or if I need a newer model/ OS.
1) I need this thing so that if the webserver goes down, I get a notification. As such, it will be on all the time. Obviously, I want to be notified when I get an email from the address that notifies me of such things. But I don't want to be notified that I got a random spam at 2am. Can I configure this device (or any of the others mentioned in this thread for that matter), to notify me *only* when I get an email from an address I have specified? If not, what would you recommend doing?
2) I am only receiving some of my email while my desktop Outlook client is running. Is this a sync timing issue, or is it related to the OS or some Outlook setting? I'd like for messages on one to appear on both.
3) For some reason my Calendar is not syncing up. Is there something special in Outlook I need to look at?
4) Can this Q be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6?
I am really wondering if getting this hand me down is going to keep me from working the way I would expect to.
This Q can not be updated to WM5. I have this phone, and love it. You didn't mention your service provider, but if it is Verizon, their wireless sync is great for the contacts and calendar. Dashwire is also working on calendar, but excellent backup for contacts.
There are many ways to set up e-mail, and to not have it sent at certain times of the day (or night)...
The people here are the best, but be forwarned that EQ is addicting...Any questions I didn't get to, will be answered shortly!
