New to the Q

Hello, I've been using the Q for a couple weeks now and just stumbled across this forum when I googled to find how to stop the pmsnserver.exe from running. This is my first smartphone and I've been having some trouble figuring it out. I just installed ActiveSync however I'm unable to install any programs on my phone and have no idea why? is there something else i need to do? /confused

Welcome.
What kind of programs are you trying to install? Basically all you need to do is use active sync to put the .cab file on the phone and then use the file manager to execute it. Or you can also use the add/remove programs function of active sync.

ActiveSync says i'm connected but when i click explore it doesn't show anything on my phone?

edit: ok i got to see My windows mobile, my pictures, and notes. I wanted to install task-manager.cab but how do i go about doing that

when I use activesync to install a program i get the error message:

cannot copy the file. Make sure the mobile device is connected, that the mobile device has space available and is not write protected, and that all setup programs on the device have been completed.

.cab files should be copied to the Q and run it there... i suggest you do some searching here if you need more help.

Use copy and paste from two windows on the pc; one being the explored Q. Don't try to drag and drop.

Are you trying to copy the file to the Q or Storage Card?
