Need major help!!! - Motorola Q Forum

I have had my Q for about 2 weeks now and love it. Recently I have had major issues with locking up and crashing.

Sometimes my Q will still be working and everything will be fine but I can't send or receive txt msgs and I won't receive calls.

Sometimes it will just shut off for no reason and I can't turn it on unless I take the battery all the way out and put it back in.

Sometimes when I finish a convo and I try to hang up or press the end button it does nothing. The counter is still counting down and the menu options still work but I can't end the call. I can even hit the back button to go out of the call but it is still active. So I have to turn off the phone.

I have done a few of the hacks and have picodrive and pocketnester on there with a few games. I just recently downloaded some of the trial software but I have been having these issues for awhile. Please help. Do I need to return this phone? Or can I do a master reset and leave the registry stuff alone? I did the speed hack and some of the sound hacks but that's about it...

if you do a master reset it will erase the who phone and leave the registry stuff...but you will lose any hacks, programs, and any other info on the phone....have you tried to upgrade to MOL3?
that may help you out...but again, that will erase the phone too!

No I haven't upgraded to MOL3. Do I have to go in for that? Or can i do it from home?

as long as you dont have vista you can do it from the net... the motorola site....

Hope you get things worked out, I am having simlar problems with mine MOL3 , so I don't think that the update does anythign to solve these problems.

I did a master reset and so far everything is better. I am going to do the update tonight. Which sucks... Does anyone know how to use the contact exporter to put the contacts back on the phone?

So... Turns out that didn't work at all! I did the master reset and haven't done the update yet (which could be part of the issue) and my phone seemed to be working fine...

Wrong! Still shutting off and freezing. New problem though. I plugged my phone in last night for charge and this morning it is dead. Not sure why...

Should I exchange?

I think it may the registry settings. Here are the hacks I have from what I remember:

Speed hack
No camera click sound
No beep sound when hitting send

I think that's it for the hacks.

I also have Facade, Trial version of Fizz weather, I am running Black Vista II, I have Contact Exporter, and I was running pico drive and pocketnester. Sorry to ramble and keep bugging you guys I would just like to avoid exchanging if possible. It's such a pain.

I get the feeling it has to do with me changing the registry mainly the speed hack. Could Facade cause problems?

This sucks...
