name/number retrieval - Motorola Q Forum

my "old" Q had it's screen fragmented (fell off moving car roof)- The phone boots w/sound but no functional screen. I was able to retrieve my pictures via sync- but not able to get my contact/phone number info. Taking it to Verizon proved no good, as they said they couldn't do anything without the screen. If the Police had it and they wanted to retrieve that info- I'm sure it could be done. Can someone please send me in the right direction? Thank you.

Since it seems like you can "explore" the phone via active sync w/usb cable, did you try rudeboys steps to copy the pim.vol onto the computer? Can you possibly install Dashwire?

Thanks for your reply, sherri- the phone is currently inactive-active sync gives me files but I cannot access them. I will try to copy them to the computer.

or try MyMobiler (if Active Sync works).. it puts the Q's screen on the pc screen..

Cannot install my mobiler on broken phone (no keypad access). I have retreived some file extentions through active sync. I beleive pim.vol is one of them- I have not received any instruction on how to open this ext.. Opening "dashwire" hasn't help either because the phone number "is already taken" and I have no controls.
