I looked at the Q, Treos, and several BBs via Verizon for 6 months prior to my upgrade. I decided to go with the BB 8703e after reading 100s of reviews and joining all boards.
After playing with the phones, the Q had and has the best keyboard followed by the 8703e. Treos are a freakin disaster and almost pointless. I have small hands and fingers mind you so I can only imagine those with bigger. I am not a professional, so editing documents is not that important albeit the Q can now offer that via Documents to Go. Plus, someone said 5.2 coming out later this year will have Word and Excel built in for those looking.
I ended up getting the Q cause after rebates I ended up getting it for free. Considering it is feature rich(camera, SD slot, etc) to the BB, it was a great value. And although it can be buggy, I am happy. Especially since I can get Sirius on this baby among many other free apps.
I am dissapointed that we cannot download videos and music while surfing the net.
I have had neither phone that long but I think Im leaning towards the Q. I had my Q for 3 days before it died and never woke up. A replacement is on the way but in the meantime I have a 700wx to play with (only 1 day so far).
I went with the Q because it was less bulky, same processor and ram and the 320 x 240 screen. The treo on the other hand has a touch screen and the ability to edited documents not to mention wifi capable with card.
My impressions so far is that the Q is small - almost too small. You can real hold it againts your shoulder and the battery life isn't great. I really dislike the keypad on the 700wx as I am consitantly misdialing. I haven't tried the data connection yet but it does "appear" to get better reception (although if I kept it Id order the stubby antenna).
The Q will be able to edit documents soon, the Q Pro can. Also as I understand it the screen size is more native (like the 700p). I have to say that with either device I am overly impressed with how far phones/computers have come.
