Default My Q completely recovered from the WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH!

I wonder if I have stumbled onto something...

I have a Sprint Q that wouldn't wake up this morning. Got ye ol' White Screen O' Death, over and over and over. I tried several of my chargers. Same thing.

Dejected, I finally plugged in my Motorola branded 115V "wall wart" charger. It lit right off. Oh happy day. It's my 4th Q.

Post (near)Mortem:

I often use a Single AA portable charger fed with NIMH rechargables. Got it at Best Buy, called a Turbo Charger. Never a problem, except after the AA is exhausted, you MUST unplug it or go for a fresh AA. I suspect the thing actually DRAINS the battery after the blue light goes off. Pretty sure, really. It's an older model charger, but I use it a lot, sometimes exclusively. It takes 3 or 4 batts to go to full charge. I made a fiberglass tube that clips onto one of my holsters that keeps it from flopping aroung while charging. I clip it to my Pickup visor or tank bag while on my Gold Wing. Or even my jacket at the zipper opening. I know, I know. It's weird.

I dozed off on the Lazy Boy last night while Turbo Charging the Q. I woke up to the Near Death Experience, but the White Light did not give me peace. It would NOT boot under USB charging, or Turbo Charge charging, even after a LONG time "attempting to charge" while turned off. No way.

Come to think of it, my last Q deceased following a low battery auto shut off. I don't think it was plugged into my AA gizmo, but I'm not real sure. It showed the Flash Mode Bootloader screen all the way to "The Service" at Sprint Mortuary East.

Very sad.

Do you think there's a connection between premature Q deaths and Very Low state of charge?

Lucky this time,
Stan

I had to do a master reset because of this more than once. You need to use the correct charger to recover from a completely drained battery. and even then, it takes about an hour before you can turn your phone on. Honestly, i would not rely so much on the Turbo Charger. I can get about 2-4 days of battery life, im sure your around a charger within that time.

You must use a big battery.

I use the original battery because I need the "facing outward" style holster to clip to my tank bag. I use a helmet communicator which is non-bluetooth. It utilizes the 2.5mm to interface with the "box" which has some noise cancelling features. I ride up to 15,000 a year.

I could use the thicker battery in my leather Krussel belt pouch. A higher rated battery WOULD solve the problem that I use the Turbo Charge for.

I try to do everything I read about on the forum to extend battery life, but if I can make a whole day, I'm lucky.

So you recovered from the White Death with a master reset?

Stan

No standard battery that comes with Q. Although, I did recently start to play Doom and that drains my battery a little faster

Yea, because I didnt have the standard charger available and needed to get it working somehow. But once I had the standard charger, I figured out that its the way to recover from death screen,
