Default moving files to memory card

Please let me apologize in advance if this issue has already been addressed elsewhere...
I'm a Q-tard who let my internal memory get full. I stopped procrastinating getting a miniSD when my phone quit letting me send stuff. I was trying to email my movies & pix to myself so I could delete them from my phone, but now it has quit letting me do that, or even send a text msg even though I can still receive texts.
So I went and bought a card, stuck it in my phone, and my phone apparently sees it. But I still get the message that the memory is getting full and please delete some stuff. So I tried to move files from main mem to mini mem, but I can't figure out how. I understand that I have the option to save new stuff to the card, but is there a way to move old stuff to it?
Also, is there a way to view how much memory a file or program takes up? I don't want to waste my time moving 138 pictures when moving one of something else will free up the same amount of memory.

Thanks much,
Reagin

Lightbulb Solved my own problem... sort of

Okay, here's what I did:

Found this site on the hacks thread, followed directions, freed up 12 Mb internal memory. Phone out of sick bay now. Will be saving all new stuff to storage card. Since I can now send movies/pix to my email, I can free up lots more space hopefully.

To move internet cache/hx/cookies to mem card, go here:

Default

Why not explore your phone's directory with Activesync and pull files to your PC's desktop or just move them to your card?

Default No PC

I only live with my PC part time. Your solution, as exquisitely simple and glaringly obvious as it is, only works if you have access to your PC. This week, I live with my PC and have moved all of my personal stuff to storage card via activesync in preparation for software upgrade. Which I performed and now cannot program my phone with *228. Or *22899. Hmmm.

Also, a side effect of setting up and using active sync was that I rediscovered the file manager. I had been trying to find a 'move to storage card' option in the menu of the open movie or pic file. Windows. Where you can do everything 17 different ways. Not including the most obvious way.
