Default Moto Q and Bluetooth Headset

This is my second Moto Q (due to the first one going completely dead for unknown reasons) and both of them have had this problem. I have associated my Q with my Bluetooth headset (which is also Motorola). It works fine sometimes but a lot of times I have problems with it.

1. There are times where I will be using the phone with the headset and I end the current call. When I go to call someone else, the audio is suddenly not in the headset anymore but the phone itself (does not make a difference if the call is originated from the phone or from voice dial). So I end up looking like an idiot with a bluetooth on and holding the phone up to my other ear. After about 5-15 sec. the audio suddenly switches back to the headset. I have been unable to find a reason or common thread to tie these together. Other times I have had it on headset and I will try to hit the button to initiate the voice dialing and the phone never responds. I look at the phone and it still has it as headset and then suddenly the icon disappears and then a few seconds later comes back. Is there any known issues of this?

2. I have had times where I will go to us the voice dial and say "Call <<name>> mobile" and the phone responds back "Did you say call <<random string of numbers>>?" When this happens the only thing I can do to get voice dial to work again is to turn the phone off and turn it back on. This is much more rare. Again is there any known problems like this?

I have a feeling that the Bluetooth standard is not as tight as it should be leaving too much play in the way that it works.

I have experienced both problems using my Q with my Motorola H500 Headset. Have not tried it with others just yet, but the headset works fine with my other phones. I haven't been able to find the reason behind it either.

That's one of the headsets that I haven't tried with my Q. I have tried the H350, H700, and the H800. All three have worked with no problems. The H700 pretty much rules out BT version (it's 1.2 and the others are 2.0)
And there is no particular reason that I stuck to Motorola headsets other than I liked the way they look.

Isn't the H500 an older model? Not criticizing the headset, but there may be some small difference in that particular headset (and a few others) from the ones I have tried (and the ones that others are using successfully)

i am thinking about putting my h500 up on craigslist ans getting the nicer overstock one from the eq store.

anyone have any experiences with the overstock ones?

it appears to be a good deal as eq says that they will waranty it for 1 year. awesomeness... i love this site more and more every day.
