Does the moto q provide something similar to the Tethered Modem the blackberry curve offers?

try the program pdanet
do a search of the forum and youll find some information and see if that is what you are looking for

Oh okay I see how it works.
I take it the only smartphone that will be able to provide a modem connection for Mac computers will be the iphone?

Sorry, but you're not sure how the iphone will interact with a mac?
I guess I should just ask what I'm thinking haha.
What smartphones provide modem capabilitites for a MacBook?

well no, i cant tell you how an iphone will interact with a mac as the iphone is not out and i do not own a mac...
did you go to the pdanet site and see if it allows interaction with a mac?
