Memory card brands? - Motorola Q Forum

Simple question really...i am about to order a 2GB memory card for my Q (i understand a 4GB will not work, is that still correct?) and would like to know if any one brand is better than another? reading on the forums here i have heard various brands mentioned...please let me know what you have and if there have been any problems...greatly appreciated!

i usually and not sure why try to get SanDisk.. which always worked for me.

4 gb will work, but only certain ones, bought 3 off ebay and they were no good...this website http://www.memorysuppliers.com/inst4gbmised.html is where a lot of people have gone. They work great. The higher sdhc cards will work too, you need to install some .dll's but they work...running 4gb as we speak..

so the ones off that website (thanks by the way) will work without installing any .dlls?

anymore information on this .dll file?

i can tell you that it works for me for over 2 weeks now in my sprint moto Q. it works for the older cards as well as the sdhc, so you will not have to remove it to go back and use your old card. it is a self installing cab

Yes, its just a regular miniSD card.

Since SDHC is software and hardware, that .dll will allow you to use SDHC cards but will be just as slow as the regular SD cards. You would need the hardware to get the higher speeds of SDHC so since those classes relate to read and write speed it would be a waste of money to get a higher class card.
