Default Man, the battery life on the Q is terrid.

I was in a marketing meeting all morning yesterday from 8 am to about 12:30...at 1:15 or so, I get the low battery warning....wow...that's BAD, and it was the second battery they gave me. I bought this phone on the 18th, so it's brand new.

I went back to the store and told them that that was unacceptable and they sold me an extended battery for 10 bucks. That's great service, and service was the reason why I left Sprint.

My question is, do all the Q's get horrible battery life? I always go into the task manager and kill all active programs and my back light turns off after 15 seconds, so I know it's not me.

there are so many threads about this... and it differs from user to user. i did some testing and decided that i let WM do the task managing since it does/did not make any difference battery life wise.. as a matter of a fact, i think starting that Task Manager i don't know how many times a day costs battery also :}

do some searching and reading..

I figured I was probably restating the obvious. So I assume it's a predominate issue with the Q. With this extended battery it is much better though.

it's a small downside to having a slim form factor. My old bag phone(early 90's) would never drain...I think you could have jump started a car with that thing

Candor gave me a tip to help with the battery life, which i have noticed that it is lasting longer now. This is what they said:

Try this for battery life:

Dial # # * Send really fast. Then >option B >option E >CDMA only. This will keep the device from searching for an EVDO signal and is supposed to improve battery life.

Seemed to help me anyway.
