Default Let's talk Master Reset

If I have copied my contacts off, other than loosing my email accounts and naving to set them up again, will I loose any other settings on the phone? I mean the stuff that Verizon entered when setting the phone up?

My phone locked up on me a few minutes ago. Dark screen, not buttons worked, could not even get a response from the power button. Had to remove the battery.

I thought maybe a good Master Reset is in order. I installed Automatic Key Lock, removed it, then the newest version, and uninstalled it. It would not wake the screen up as it was supposed to. It gave me a black screen that I could power off with the buttons to recover from. I uninstalled it yesterday. I feel this may be causing the issue, and want to start clean.

Please let me know if a MR is the way to go.

a Master Reset brings the phone back to out of box state.. all will be wiped except the MOL updates if you done them.

after the MR you will also have to re-program with carrier (Verizon *228)

I have to ask, what is MOL?

So my phone will still be working without a trip to the Verizon store, right?

Are these lockups normal? That battery is a pain to get out!

i would not say lockups are "normal".. but they do happen, i have my (first) Q for almost a year, and i can count the lockups on one hand.

freeze up and lock up and a regular basis may mean either bad app, corrupted data, or a bad device. MR= last resort IMHO

I did a MR to see if it helps with my draining battery issue. Backed up my contacts. so my MOL should be the same I hope!

How does one recover the data from a backup? I used Sprint trial version. I have the file on my computer, but now that I have Master Reset the phone I have nothing on it. All I want is my contacts put back in the phone. Will Active Sync do that?
