Laptop Internet Connection

Whenever I connect my phone to my laptop in order to sync, I lose my wireless internet connection. The only way I can reconnect is to reboot my laptop. Disconnecting the phone does not correct the problem.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how were you able to correct it?

This is driving me crazy, so any help would be appreciated.

Active sync creates a network connection on your computer with a private ip address (169.254.x.x) to communicate with the phone. If you are using the same network space for your wireless connection it may be messing up your routing.

When the Q is connected, do an "ipconfig /all" and see if both your wireless connection and the Motorola Q connection are in the same address space.

It's the only thing I can think of.

That was it, thank you. To correct this, I went into Settings (on phone), Connections, USB to PC, then unchecked "Enable advanced network functionality"
