Default IE error regarding graphics

Hi all.
Any help on this issue is highly appreciated.

Internet Explorer will not load graphics anymore, regardless of what page i visit. even the yahoo doesnt load its own logo. all that shows is the place holder for the pic. it shows the ALT info instead. the file type doesnt matter. jpeg, bmp, gif, png. nothing loads.

forms load, as does the plain text. links are clickable.

ive cleared all temp files, cookies and history. ive pulled the battery. ive done the verizon update *228. ive dug through the registry looking for something that would disable graphics from loading ive threatened the phone with harsh words. nothing seems to work.

i didnt drop it. i didnt make an error regarding registry edits. it happened after i visited the mandriva forums 2 weeks ago.

any ideas that dont involve a hard reset? all my computers run linux. activesync hates linux. i suppose i could run windows off VMware or wine to get activesync running. i dont know. im at a loss.

advice anyone?

i found a work around. i stopped using IE and found a free web browser called jb5. it loads the pics without error. hell, the damn thing loads EVERYTHING faster and has more options.

google it if you want to check it out. i forgot the url. jaytk or something. idk. try googling "jb5". or...... "smartphone internet browser".

it was a small cab file and loaded itself up with any problems. i HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who has grown tired of IE.

a good follow up question would be, can i safely remove IE and free up some space? if so, how?

Desktop software

My husband's Q would not load images on the internet either. I searched threads forever until I found this one. I cleared his cookies, temp files, history, checked all his settings etc. I didn't want to download any third party apps, so I went over the phone menus one more time. It turns out on his internet view menu, he did not have "show pictures" selected. Thought this might be a useful, if fairly obvious, solution to anyone else who may be researching this problem.

nope... PIE is installed in ROM and can not be removed.

ps. in case you are wondering or run into it, jB5 adds a push email account (or something similar) to the tmail menu.. for an unknown reason.
