How to backup items without using Sprite Backup?

How can items on the Q be backed up without using Sprite Backup? I have had my Q for nearly a year and the original one bit the dust last week and VZW sent me a replacement. I've been diligently backing up my Q at least weekly, if not more frequently however, upon trying to restore from Sprite, I've run into a lot of issues namely IE not responding eliminating e-mail etc.

The main things I want to back up continuously are the ringstones that go with many of my contacts. I've had success backing up 3rd party apps to my mini-SD card. Any insight any of you can provide would be much appreciated.

use active sync to tkae the tones off your Q and move them to the PC

Thank you for your assistance. I apologize that I didn't state this previously. I do have everything backed up both on my computer and an sd card however, I don't know what file houses the information for the specific ringtones for specific contacts? If anyone knows, please advise.

i dont believe it works like that
i sppose you try the pim.vol file but not it stores the ringtones

if you have them saved you will probably just have to reinput them

yea, i believe also you have to reinput the specific ringtones for specific contacts.. look on the bright side, you get to "play" w/ the Q :}
