Default Hotmail Password disappearing?

I have my email accounts working okay - but recently (on my 2nd Q), I'm finding that sometimes once a day, it prompts me for my password when I do a send/recieve. Each time I add it, it works - and I always check the "Save Password" box.

Has anyone had this problem - if so, know what's causing it?

I'm coming close to my second 30 day Sprint replacement period, and am wondering if this is indicative of another problem.
(I haven't noticed it happening with pop3 accounts though)

I really don't think it has anything to do with your Q. I have the same problem on both my Q and my PC, (Outlook). I'm pretty sure it's on Hotmail's end. I think it has something to do with Microsoft removing the ability to use Outlook for Hotmail a while back, (made it a paid feature). Haven't heard anything since then, so I don't know if they followed through with it, or what. Either way, I can still use Outlook, it just refuses to save the PW for some reason. HTH

Thanks. Being the Q has Pocket MSN, and "Hotmail" setup built in, that shouldn't be the issue here.
It was being quirky, but after adding and saving my password (again) and doing a couple of successful "send/rcv" cycles, I went to Pocket MSN - Options - General. I was going to "Clear Saved Password", but it was greyed out... however, "send/rcv" was working. (Odd?).
So, finally I tried Pocket MSN / Options / Change User - and set it up with the same login and password, and it SEEMS that corrected it.
(Now I do see the "Clear Saved Password" button, so it appears to be properly saved)

I had this same problem too. I went to the "Change User" menu and re-entered my info. That fixed the problem.

The same thing happens to me and I use Yahoo. I called Sprint and they said it is happening from Yahoo's or Hotmail end. When it happens I turn off the phone and turning back on and hit send/receive and it starts to work again.

Sounds like one of Microsoft's patented workarounds (reboot & retry) and it usually works.

Default Hotmail downloading issues

When MSN Hotmail is working, I also periodically get prompted to enter my password, which I'd live with. A much bigger issue is that I frequently get this error: "The following error occured while sending and receiving mail: Downloading a message failed. If you are reading it, please close the message and try again."

The only workaround I found (I believe it may have been on this forum) that resolves this, is to Switch User in Pocket MSN. However, it also blows away all of the messeages and the folders that I've previously received/sent.

Can anyone provide any further guidance? I've had 5 email exchanges with MS Windows Mobile support, which is the subject of another post. In short it's non-existent!

Thanks.
