Without having to use pocket msn (which dosent seem to actually delete the messages) is there a way to setup a hotmail account on my main Outlook Email list?

i never actually tried Hotmail but i have IMAP Yahoo (don't ask, it's bizniz mail) setup on my Q, find out the pop and smtp server and setup an IMAP account..

Ok, so I tried to setup an IMAP account, maybe I am doing this wrong (or IMAP cant use hotmail).. the main issue im having is.. when i type in my @hotmail email address, even if I uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings" it throws me into Pocket MSN without even asking. Its forcing me to use it?

hmz... it may not work, read here, also do a search for "hotmail" here on EQ and a lot of threads pop up..

ok will do, thanks a lot. I have been reading lots of threads on here to help me with the Q and figured it was time to sign up

yep.. lots can be learned here on EQ, heck i've been a member for almost a year and still learn new things :}

hmm, tried searching for this and didnt find the answer.. even when using Pocket MSN.. when it downloads the folder list and i delete an email.. ill go into deleted items and permanently delete it.. if i do a send/receive it brings the email back. its like it never deletes anything or actually does anything except let me read new emails.. is this normal?

It's been I while, but I tried to set up my Hotmail with outlook (not on Q), Hotmail back then didn't allow POP3 access due to possible spammers.

i believe paid Hotmail like paid Yahoo will allow you pop access. he -the OP- however is talking about imap..

I suggest using the windows live for windows mobile. search this forum for treefrog's post about a wm5 version that is working. it will allow for hotmail accounts as well as giving you the option for "pushmail".
