Default Hitting numbers during voice mail does nothing

I don't know if this happened due to a hack I enabled or what, but when I hit numbers, such as 1 or 7, while listening to voicemail, nothing happens. The number shows up after I press it, but the lady on the voicemail just keeps talking and talking:O

Oddly enough, I had that happen to me today, I figure out what i did. My fat chin or something must of hit a button. While I could see what I was pushing nothing was happening. I reallized I was now sorting my contacts while on the phone. Got to make sure you have the in call splash screen up. At least thats my only assumtion of what could of happened

When that happened to me, I realized that I had wondered off to look at my calendar while listening to my voice mails. Voice Mail doesn’t like that. It wants your full attention. If you pull up the menu or go to another screen, it will ignore your key stokes and constantly ask “are you still there?” As soon as you return to the voice mail screen, it will accept your keystrokes.

Hitting back button to call status screen will fix the first issue.

For the guy who turned off his phone and is still unable to use the keypad - you may have turned off your DTMF. To turn it back on go to 'Settings'->'Phone Settings'-> 'DTMF' and make sure it's not off.

Oddly enough, this happened to me just yesterday for the first time. It drove me nuts for about 15 minutes, calling and recalling. I finally did a soft reset and it worked fine.

Key strokes not working happen under two circumstance for me. the first has been discussed, if you leave the call in progress screen it will not accept the keys. This works as it should since it assumes you are trying to do something else while on the phone since you left the screen. The other one to watch for is if your phone is locked and you accept a call you will not be able to enter any keys. I live in a gated community and I have to unlock before I can buzz people in.

If neither of those represent your issue and your DTMF is on, then try the soft reset. If it happens again I would consider exchanging the phone because I have not had that issue on either of the two Qs I had.

Hrm, I never thought about that it wouln't work if the phone is locked. Can you unlock the phone while in the middle of a call?

Yes, although the gate software doesn't always like waiting. I usually unlock if I am expecting someone at the gate.
