Default Help with Corporate Email

OK, Here's the deal. I work for a non-profit company that contracts out all IT services to another company. They handle our network, email, all that stuff.

When I got my Q a few months ago, I inquired as to setting up the email on my Q, and email is the only thing I want. I have no desire to connect my Q to my work computer, or anything like that. Just want to be able to set up an email account on my Q. They came back and said they'd have to charge us something like 2 hours for the initial setup, and then an additional 6 hours per year for "maintenance."

Does anyone know how to set this up without having them do it? Is there a way I can just get into some settings in outlook to get the information I would need to know to set it up myself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: We run Microsoft Outlook on our work computers for email, and they use Microsoft Exchange.

Lets see....

Do you have Outlook Web access address? (This is the site you go to when you are not at work to check your emails)

PM me or post that address and i'll check to see if you'll be able to configure it on your phone or not.

That was part of my original question I guess. Is there a way I can get that information out of outlook?

Sent you some info. If you have a single server setup then you need work on the server side.

Install the cert on your phone and enter all the settings in activesync, if you get a support code 0x85010014 then you need some work per MS KB article 817379
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379 (Method#2)

If you have access to the server, i can send you the settings i have on my SBS.(same settings apply to a single server setup)

OK, I've done everything you said to so far, installed the cert, and I did get the message above.

Do you know how I go about fixing this error?

yea. If you have access to the server, you need to make a new virtual directory on the server. Follow method number 2 in that KB article i gave you.

Download the settings from my server and make sure they all match with your server.

Default Dead end

Well, looks like I'm at a dead end as it looks like the solution to this is to adjust some registry file on the server, and I'm pretty sure I can't get in to do that.

So, here's option 2, if I can get it to work right, but so far, I'm unsuccesful. I'm thinking that I could set up a rule in outlook that would automatically forward all my mail to a gmail account, which i could in turn access on the Q. I thought I had a rule set up to do this, but I must not have done it right, cause although I set it up to forward all mail with me in the To or CC fields, and I ran it. All the messages in my inbox ended up in the SENT file with a FW added to them, as if they were forwarded, but nothing in the gmail inbox. I checked to make sure I had the address correct. And no messages of returned mail. Any ideas?

If you are with verizon, you can setup wireless sync but you'll have to keep your computer on all the time.
