HELP! Texting nightmare

So heres the deal-My Q was working FINE up til a month ago... I was able to receive AND send upto but not limited to numerous page texts. I like to text. SO anyways, heres the latest...i went to ALLTEL and they cant figure out why when i now receive a text past 160 characters, i get a "proceeding message was not deliverable, not supportive of enhanced messaging service" mind you, i used to get pages, now nothing...just a page...then that msg comes up. I spoke to tech support, advanced tech support etc, nadda...they told me my phone isnt capable of receive a 2nd page text...bull...i did and have for months!!!

btw-im wondering if ANYONE else has this issue...please, if you dont, just lettme know...im on my second Q, and im heading to Alltel tomorrow to figure this out yet again

I used to be able to recieve texts above 160 also, but now i get the same message. I'm with Verizon. I think something was done on the last firmware upgrade from motorola.

I did a search on Text message limit and came up with an old thread that spoke about how everybody else (Verizon, Tmobile, etc.) splits up the message into 2 seperate texts, but AT&T sends and recieves the full message all at once. No one on that thread seemed to be experiencing what we're experincing now. That's why I think its something new.

The thing is, i havent upgraded the software AT ALL and it was doing it..so they thought, maybe it was a upgrade issue, since my phone was powering off, and getting froze on certain pages. So...i brought it in, did the upgrade, and STILL...no texts...still freezes...still power downs.

Im not sure whats going on with the network im in or the phone, but everything was fine before and i was fine with the Q...now i wanna throw it out the window. Nothing seems to be working on it

I don't think it's the network kjp2082000, I'm on Alltel and receive messages over the 160 limit as 2 separate txts with 1/2 and 2/2 at the beginning of each of them.

What firmware version are you on, I would tell you mine but don't know where to find it, lol. You must have the original Q I presume?

i do have the original Q-purchased it in Nov, no problems with it at all until now...what do you mean my filmware?

OK-so your telling me, your Q9m CAN receive OVER 160character texts, however, i have the original Q, not the next one up, inwhich you have....others on here state the SAME issue i have, not being able to recieve 2page+ texts, and other CAN...but heres my question....when i ask why my phone all of a sudden stops receiving over 160 text, tech support tells me, sorry but your phone was NEVER able to do so, it was a flux....what gives?? Others in my situation CAN and HAVE and are still receiving...so why is my tech support telling me, um no...not possible?

-I go thru ALLTEL, so not sure if that makes a difference, but the Q is a Q no matter where it is-so i wish tech support would admit that we all arent lying and our phones ARE recieving 160+texts...and some who are reciving, now arent!! like ME!

ugh this is beyond frustrating. Heading in today to hopefully iron something out. I cant take this. Its driving me nuts! i pay for unlimited text/smartphone plan, PLUS 2 other lines under my plan and ive seriously hit a meltdown point with giving the run around.

no you were right-i read it wrong-so whattaya mean firmware??? lol-im grasping at anything to make sence of why my Q isnt receiving 160+ anymore and other peoples can!

Correct, I cannot receive enhanced messages. If my wife sends me a long txt, it says preceeding message has been modified for this device.
However, others have had success.
