I bought a Motorola HS830 with helmet adapter. It's not very loud and the speaker sound quality is terrible. But I only paid $14 on ebay for it.

I switched to the Sprint Q from an Alltel Nokia 6255i which has served me well, ringing nicely in my helmet through the supplied 2.5mm phone jack. The adapter to the comm is 2.5mm male (phone) to 3.5mm male input to the communicator.
I can set the headset profile to "auto answer" and it will yield a very brief "ring" in the helmet speakers just before connecting. I don't like auto-answer in particular, and the extremely quick ring is hard to catch in a noisy environment. This is the best I have done so far. I hope that is not the only answer.
Phone calls are loud and clear and fully duplex with the Q, interfacing with the Starcom1. Text message alerts come through loud and clear through the helmet. Go figure.
As a last resort I could purchase a dedicated bluetooth adapter made for the Starcom1--but it is pricey--190+shipping.
I know this is an odd request, but several sessions with everythingq search function have not turned up anything useful on this topic.
Any help would be appreciated. |
