...My windows media player 11 keeps getting some stupid error when windows is trying to update it. Does anybody have a phone number at Microsoft where I can speak to an actual person?

I work for a Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider, and it is VERY difficult (and costly) for us to get a REAL person on the phone. The best thing to do is either post the error here or some other forum that deals specifically with that product.

It's funny you say this. I had a friend, whose mom worked for a school in Arkansas. Well she was trying to get some pc for her school and couldn't get any help from microsoft. She called him and within minutes was on the phone with Gates himself. I just find that very cool that the guy takes time to anwser a phone call.

Thanks for your response. I was able to fix the problem. Not sure if i understand it, but I believe I had an infected .ddl file. When I tried to delete the folder I was getting the error about my virus protection all of the sudden jumped to life and started downloading updates. After that, and a serious system restart I was then able to delete the folder and re-install it. All seems to be right with the world once again.
