Help! crash and verizon says warranty is void - Motorola Q Forum

I bought my Q from someone on ebay. It was only two months old and I have had it for one month. It crashed today and verizon told me that the warranty is void because I bought it from a third party and sent me to Asurion. Asurion won't cover because it is a technical issue. What do I do?????? I thought I saw on here recently that some of you had bought your phones from people other than an authorized agent and had not had a problem.

If it's less than 1 year old (all Q's are at this point), it's covered by Motorola's warranty. Call Moto.

I did the software update with Moto tech support it didn't help. They want me to send it to them and that will take weeks. I called my local store that helped me to set up the Q when I got it. I got the same girl who originally helped me and her manager has taken pity on me and is going to give me a new one!!!!!!!!! I have learned my lesson regarding warranties and buying used electronics on ebay. I can sleep tonight.

Well at least it was resolved. Hopefully we have learned our lesson

Glad that worked out for you. Make sure you thank those people at the local store again and again. They did not have to do anything. Warrantys are generally only for the original purchaser unless stated in the waranty that it's transferrable. You were lucky.

Since asurion told you it was a technical issue if you couldn't have gotten one any other way you could have "made" it a physical issue.
