Default Help!!!.....completely Frozen

My Q is completely frozen and wont do anything. I have to take out the battery to turn it off. My mom was sending me over 96 megs worth of pictures and my computer was off so it kept trying to dl it. Didn't think much of it, but then all the sudden my Q just completely froze up.

Any ideas?

Did you get rid of the 96MB first? You might also want to try and give it a charge so you do not put your Q into low power mode.

Well hopefully it doesn't happen again, that's the first thing. I would let it charge for a few minutes. Unplug it, take out the battery, press your power button a couple of times to ensure there is no charge left in your Q, and put the battery back in.

Let me know if the problem occurs again.

Have you backed up all of your contacts? You might have to try a master reset, or update the firmware to the current MOL version that you guys run.

Hold in the center button (Silver one) while you press the power button. Only do this if you have backed up all your data, cause you ain't gettin any of it back after you do this.

Default Similar problem!

Had my Q for just over a year - overall been good to me, never (yet) has it needed replacing!

I've been researching my most current problem and it sounds identical to this thread. I was surfing the web, the battery got low, and I got a "warning: memory full" , then got a couple of calls and the battery got critically low and actually froze.

Didn't think much of it - just charged it. The next time I turned it on, it displayed my home screen (with the correct time!) and would not respond to anything. Wouldn't turn off, nothing.

Took out the battery, restarted it umpteen times, even tried the master reset (all it did was power up to the same situation). Plus I haven't backed the bad boy up for quite a while, so it would majorly suck.

Anyway, the reason I posted on this thread, is the commonality of memory being full. That was actually the reason I suspected it locked up even before I read newuser2007's experience.

I am going to try putting a memory card in it. It seems like a software thing that the Q cannot overcome.

Any other thoughts?

Default It worked! Low memory = frozen phone on startup!

I realize that I'm a year too late for newuser2007, but...

I just put my first memory card in the Q (never really used it for memory-intensive stuff before). 2 GB.

Took out battery, put card in, powered up - instantly worked, just like yesterday.

I guess some email attachments, temporary internet files etc had completely used up the on-board memory. Got that cleared out.

Anyone else have this experience?
