Default Help!!

I just got my third Q <arrrrgh!!>. I am trying to transfer ALL of my contacts from my old Q to my new Q. I plugged in the new Q, and most of my contacts transferred however, there are some that for whatever reason didn't.

Why? and how do I resolve this. I have over 250 contacts, so going one by one isn't really an option.

I sync with Outlook 2007, and thought that basically ALL of my contacts would just synchronize. I have been playing with this now for about a week, and I have to return the old phone soon, so your thoughts sooner than later are REALLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

1- Move all your contacts from "Contacts" folder to a new contacts folder. (your main contacts folder now should be empty)
2- Delete partnership between your Q and the pc.
On your PC.. Open Activesync-Click File and delete Mobile
On your Q.. Open ActiveSync- Menu-Option-Highligh WindowsPC and click Menu Delete.
3- Cradle your Q and create a New partnership just to Sync Contacts
4- You should now have all contacts form the phone in CONTACTS folder in outlook.
5- Now delete all the contacts from this folder. It will delete off the Q.
6- Move your original contacts from the "new Contacts folder" to the "CONTACTS" folder. and sync again.

I think I may have a larger issue though. I have contacts in my Q which AREN'T syncing with Outlook. I have no idea why, but they clearly exist in my phone and not in Outlook. Is there some 'hidden' method of preventing those contacts from syncing? I just wondered if I was accidentally doing 'that' and it was preventing the sync!

I've tried copying pim.vol to a folder on my computer but I keep getting the following error: "Cannot copy pim: There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use." I've tried killing all programs except for Microsoft ActiveSync and it doesn't make a difference.

I need to do a master reset on this phone before I can activate it for someone else and I don't want all of the contacts on this phone to go away in case there is an issue and I need to retrieve them. I'd rather not use a program like Dashwire if I can help it, as I'd rather not post all of this information online.

Thanks!

Only you can see what you put in the Dashwire account. No one else has the ability to get into my contacts...

What service provider do you use? Verizon wireless synch can back up contacts and calendar information...

Everything on Dashwire is completely private. Your contacts, pictures, videos, etc are all safe on our website and we don't expose them to anyone. Obviously understand people want privacy and safety with their information, just want to give you our word that user info is probably safer than the gold in fort knox!

Actually there's no gold in Ft. Knox (having been there recently for training) the repository is adjacent to the fort.
