If you don't want all of the other stuff that comes with that, it seems you can just get the software and maps on MiniSD.

So, is this just all software based or does this require an external antenna (i.e. receiver) for this Garmin Mobile to work with the Q?

As far as I know, the only GPS program that doesn't require a receiver is Navizon (and I've heard it has sketchy results).

The Garmin system specifically says it has a receiver if you're worried that you'd also need to buy that.
