Gmail issue.

well... second time this Guru is looking for some help :}

after working for a week starting last night my Gmail won't send/receive anymore... i get this error, tried the solutions i found here such as; soft reset, delete account and re-create. but, to no avail (obviously else i would not post this :}

any other bright ideas ?

Check Use SSL for incoming and outgoing mail? Maybe check gmail settings via IE?!

did both.. multiple times and all seems to be correct. this is very weird. i have 4-5 bars when i start the check and after the connection is established i have 2.. and then the error.

yea, did that.. and again deleted the account and re-created it. that solved it.. even though i had already done that twice :} hope this isn;t going to be a reoccurring thing :}

not sure what to tell you. i know this is probably redundant, but my settings are as such...

first setup screen:
display name
email

second:
username
password
domain - blank

third:
server type - pop3
account name - gmail (or whatever you want)
network - the internet

fourth:
incoming server - pop.gmail.com:995 (no ssl)
outgoing server - smtp.gmail.com:465 (ssl)
(nothing for outgoing server settings)

fifth/sixth
configure as you wish

all of this except selecting ssl for the outgoing was autodetected
