Default GMail IMAP service -- blank message bodies

I got lucky and had one of my Gmail accounts get IMAP service early on in the rollout. I setup my Q yesterday to use it instead of Pop and found that messages in rich text or HTML format download to my Q but appear as blank or empty messages. The bodies are fine in Thunderbird and in the web-based Gmail display. Anyone else had this experience?

never had this happen.. but come to think of it, PIE does not support all kinds of fancy-smancy html and what not in e-mail (which should not be in e-mail to begin with but that is my opinion and i digress :}
so do you get any e-mail with text in the body ?

I didn't find one either, but to answer your earlier post, plain text emails do appear. I want to call it a Q bug, but at the same time using GMail POP3 service works fine and I can read HTML formatted messages, so maybe it is a GMail issue, although I'm guessing there's less bugs in Google's code than Windows Mobile....

sorry i misspoke. it's actually a thread announcing the IMAP service that was posted yesterday. There are others who are having the same problem, myself included. sorry for the confusion.

It looks like this is affecting more than than Q users -- there's quite a few threads in the GMail Pop/IMAP support group reporting this for WM5/6 phones.

A post from another user (zimbra developer?) in this thread: http://tinyurl.com/2zu3xv indicates that it might well be a glitch on the server side at google.

I have the same problem. Plain text works fine, but text combined with an attachment or graphics, appears as an empty email. I was switching from POP because I have a problem every so often where all my email gets marked as unread. It would be nice if the java version of gmail ran on the Q. Let me know if you find any workarounds for this one.

This is happening to me as well, but not really a big deal... I am sure Google will sort it out. I am super happy gmail is finally IMAP.
