Default gmail contacts

I've done some searching in the forums and didn't see anything on this topic, if I'm wrong, show me the way...

When I log on to gmail via Internet Exporer and click on CONTACTS it brings up a few "recent" addresses but for all others you have to do a search. I also have some mailing groups set up and even by searching it won't bring them up. I'd like to know if I can view the whole list of contacts at once and if anyone has some ideas why I can't find my "groups" even by searching.

I'm on Alltel if that matters.

Great site and forums by the way!

Thanks
Matt

I've been using Mail2Web and syncing Contacts via Activesync, so you can just send mail using the built in mailer and address book instead of doing it through a web page.

Tried setting up a mailing list in Outlook then syncing with the phone and the list won't show up in my contacts. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

I just got a Q about a month ago. I was looking for sync alternatives to Outlook too because I sync at work, and unlike many people, don't want my work meetings on my Q. I am using OggSync to sync my calendar with Google Calendar and it works great. I asked the folks at OggSync about syncing with Google for contacts because I thought, hey - this would be great. Total wireless syncing without using Outlook. They said that Google has not released the API for contacts but it is probably something coming down the pike.

In the meantime, I'm syncing my contacts with Outlook, but also installed Yahoo To Go 2 which does a pretty nice job of wirelessly syncing contacts. This way I've got my contacts backed up off my work PC. I'd prefer to have everything with Google, but if you don't have Outlook, Yahoo To Go is a decent alternative for now.

So can you use the mailing groups/lists that you have set up through your Yahoo mail acct? I couldn't get that to work with Yahoo Go.
