Default Frustrated user needs help.

Hi everyone.

I am not sure if I am the only one. But I am really really frustrated with my Q.

My phone has a problem that sometimes, it would not ring at all. I can see an incoming call, and the screen lights up. But no ring tone. When I pick up the call, I hear no sound. I can’t hear from the other end, and the other end can’t hear me either, but the screen shows connected. This problem seems intermittent. It comes and goes. I was just seeing this problem again thrity minutes ago. and I tested it from a land line. Only about 10 minutes later the problem goes away, I did not reboot, did not even kill any program. Anyone has a similar problem?

My second problem is headset. When I turned on the bluetooth headset, how do I make it ring both in the headset and the phone itself? I use to have it this way, but now it only rings in the headset, not the phone.

These two problems started after I downloaded the software update from Motorola and updated the phone. Below is the history of this. please help.

I switched from my Sony Ericsson 900 six months ago to my Q. My biggest complaint on it is the sluggishness. Sometimes, the key will take about 1 second delay. Meaning I press the number and it’ll take almost a second before it shows. Or just before I thought I didn’t press the button, and tried again, then the number will appeared twice. It isn’t a big deal, but when this happens while I am trying to enter a series of numbers to program a remote voice service. I’d have to redo the operation again.
Also, sometimes for no reason at all, the speed dial will not work. I’d press the number and that’s that. no dialing.
I thought these are bugs, and maybe a software update should fix the problem, but now I have two much worse problems.

Any help is appreciated.

First off, Welcome to EQ!!!!

I would call your provider and see if they can help. The phone part should work with no problems. Thats a given. :/

I have this issue to. I just press the first number and wait for the dialing screen to come up and then finish the number. It seems to work best that. It seems to be really sluggish when I'm connected to my data network. Mainly because there is a lot going on in the background. No real way of speeding this up.

typically you have to hold down the key for a second or two and it should dial. Is it still not working after a couple of seconds?

Thanks for help.

I am not sure about calling the provider (yet). Since this happens only after I did the software update. So, I don't think it is a hardware problem. Also because the problem is Intermittent. I cannot reproduce the problem at will.

The speed dialing problem is also intermittent. I know about holding it for a second or two. But no, sometimes it just won't work. I'd hard press the button for 5 seconds, for just one number i.e. 8, it just won't dial. when that happens, all the speed dials number do not work. But all I have to do is after 5 minutes or so, pick up the phone and it'd work again. memory issue?

I don't have to be online when this happens. Not neccesarily having too many apps opened. the problem, it seems to me, is just random.

I hope others can share more of their negative experiences. I read great review over and over. it seems to be just a great phone as a great price. But I am honestly disappointed with this phone, and I feel like I am the only one.
