Default Frustrated Newbie with a Q

Hello everybody, I am having major issues with what I thought to be a simple task. I started out with the Sticky in this forum about the "New User's" guide and found the KOOLdezine link. Really cool I thought I want to have one of those sample backgrounds. So I asked "OK, how do I get that background JPG on my Q?" Looked through my entire User's MAnual and absolutely nothing about linking your comp to your Q. Luckily in the zip folder i downloaded from Kooldezine there was a readme that said i needed to use activesync to move the files to my Q. Cool, so I pull up Activesync on my Q and it says I need to download the activesync software to my desktop. Absolutely no software CD included with my Q so I have to google the software to download it from microsoft. I install activesync and now it won't connect to my phone. Errors

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tell me that there is an easier way to do this.

Thanks in advance

here is how easy it can be, download and install the newest Active Sync but first uninstall the previous version from your pc. after that connect the Q to the pc with a usb cable and all should be well. not sure why there is VPN software preventing you from connecting the Q (obviously i do not know the configuration and software on your pc)

a search for "active sync" here on Q should bring up numerous previous threads about people having issues from which you can learn/figure out what is going on/wrong.

my Active Sync refuses to connect when i have the free version of the firewall Zone Alarm enabled so I have to exit. The pay version allows for more modifications to allow Active Sync but not the free version.

so the solution may just be to exit to of your personal firewall software.

What about the page that says "Use your Q as a PC Bluetooth remote?" or "Modem Link" or "Synchronize" on page 19?
