try googling for Star Trek sound effects. Those are always good for beeps and chirps and little event sounds like that.

I use http://www.allofmp3.com for a lot of ring tones. For those that don't know, its a website in Russia offering an iTunes like service but for much less money.

The key is that as a registered member you can "preview" any song on the site (which is a massive collection) by downloading a low quality mono version mp3 of the song -- a perfect way to get songs for ring tones. A full song is usually well under a meg, making it ideal for use as a ring.

The site has recently come under legal scrutiny by Visa and Mastercard who no longer allow their cards to be used on the site, which makes it a little more difficult to join (you need to start with a $10 value in your account) but there are other options and it is a great place for music.

BTW, I know this has been covered, but how do you change the email/text tone? I tried putting sounds in /Windows where the rest of the stock notifications are located, but I am unable to select them as email/text notifications...it will only recognize them as ringers.

I wouldn't even use Allofmp3...you're better off just stealing the music...you're basically giving money to the Russians...cause the Artist aren't seeing any of that...

ha, i love how people assume because a web site offers it for free (or for pay) that's legit. It's coming from Russia (or Sweden, hint-hint) and NOT the US for a reason.
