EV speed? Is this a good speed? - Motorola Q Forum

So i got EV finally and am posting this with my Q tethered and all is working well. (Thanks Oddllama!!) My speed test from speakeasy.net is 267 kbs down and 75 kbs up. Im with Alltel and EV just came online fri. Are these numbers where they should be? Can some other users post thier speeds? Just curious if this is up to par with other services. Thanks for your help.

I thought from another post you were tethering with DUN by dialing #777. If so I don't think EV comes into play. I get 7-800 kbs on EV also.

Using my Q connected to my laptop and using PDANet in a EVDO area I get at least 500k +

r there different speeds of evdo like if your closer to the tower

It depends on signal strength, coverage, traffic levels, the alignment of the sun and moon, the way the wind is blowing, etc. Most of the time my speeds are between 600kbps-800kbps, but sometimes as low as 200 or lower and sometimes even higher.

Rev. 0
Rev. A

Is the old Q capable of Rev A or do you need the newer one?

neither have Rev.A at this point (and have not heard a peep on whether they'll get it in the near future).
