I've gotten something similar in a weak signal area when I lost my signal. Retried and it worked.

soft reset is powering down, and turning it back on.

hard reset which actually is called Master Reset is a radical reset that brings the phone back to the out of the box state, meaning everything you did to the Q will be erased.

i know the difference, thanks rudeboy...

i was saying that i did a soft reset and a hard reset and i still got the same message.

its like it is trying to download something but it wont...like some huge email? i dont know..is there a limit to what it will download? i say this bc when i just tried it...not 5 minutes ago. i got the email that said there was a new msg to my post. But then it pops up and gave me the same error msg.

Yeah, I'm having that problem right now...My phone was working fine...I did a soft reset and still same problem...Someone mentioned it's the service...I think its that, because my error message says "ERROR: unable to make call", and I'm not even making a call...Well, I'll wait till tomorrow to see if it's fixed or not.

I am thinking, and mind you this is just my idea, that the wording "can not make call" is to be taken generically; maybe the carriers are saving $$ by using the same msg over and over. I have gotten that msg, too. Usually in a weak signal area like (n99) said and I jut retried making the "call" whether it was text, phone or in one case, an internet connection.

Not an answer to your question...just additonal info.

Hoping your electronic skies are not cloudy all day!!
