Default emails delete on q, but not on server

Just got my q two days ago. i love it except for one problem, emails I delete will reappear later at the next sync, and will not be deleted from the server, as when I check webmail on my computer at home later, they will still be there. What's the problem here? everything else with the email seems to be working fine. my school "doesnt support email on mobile devices blah blah blah" so theyre no real help. I would appreciate your help as this is putting a pretty big dent in my use and enjoyment of my new toy.

in outlook go to tools-->email accounts-->change-->more settings-->advanced-->and uncheck the box 'leave message on server'

so now if you delete it from the Q its gone gone....

ps. this was done with outlook 2003...steps may varry but you get the idea

I couldn't find the corresponding process in Mail or in my webmail program, but my workaround solution is going through the menu and cliking 'move' and sending the message to my trash folder. i dont get THAT much email so its not a big deal.
