Email Reminder Alert Tone - Motorola Q Forum

I have my new emails alert set to vibrate. But if I haven't checked them, my Q sends an alert - beep beep beep (high, medium, low tone). I have gone into
Settings --> Sounds
but I don't see anything that appears to be what I'm looking for. I want my phone to ring on a call, but no other sounds.

Can someone help me with these settings?

If I understand you correctly:

go to...

settings-->Unread message alert-->turn it to "off"

Yup, that's the one! Thanks very much!

I see it's either on or off. There's no way to set that to vibrate (yet still have phone calls with volume), is there?

I think you can do that in settings \ sounds
set everything to vibrate or none.

That's what I did. I have Ring Tone set to a tune, reminders has a sound, voice mail has a sound, and new text message has a sound. Everything else was set to vibrate. But I still kept getting the annoying tone reminding me I have unread emails. Since I turned off the unread message alert I don't get the beep, but I would like to have it vibrate if that is possible, but I haven't found any way to do it.

It sounds like you want the initial alert to be audible, but the subsquent reminders to be vibrate. I don't think that's possible.

OK. How about if I turned all my messages (text, IM, email, etc) to vibrate, still had my ring tone on a tune, and turned the unread message alert ON. Would the unread message alert vibrate or make the sound?
