dont know what happened to my Q

I have a verizon motorola Q and as of last nite it would just shut off on me once and awhile. I would simply pull the battery off and put it back on and everything was good. Now all of a sudden when I try to scroll down it takes me to my phone menu. I cant text anyone because I cant use number signs. On the back half of that sticker is red and half white. But I didnt get it wet so I dont know what happened. I dont have insurance so I dont know what to do. Any advice? Oh and and i tried a master reset but its doing the same thing.
