Default Dead USB Port?

I can't seem to get my Moto Q to charge or sync over USB. The last time I successfully synced was yesterday. When I was at work and my battery was running low, I connected a wall charger to it, but it would not begin charging. When I got home, I placed my Q into the desktop dock, and it would not charge. In fact, the spare battery would not charge either unless the Q was unplugged from the dock. I then took it over to my PC and plugged it in. It also would not respond. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this? Or should I just take it back to US Cellular for an exchange?

Reboot the phone (pop the battery out and then back in again) and see if that helps. I've experienced software lockups in the past the precluded the phone charging when properly plugged in.

Did that a couple times when switching batteries. I did install OctroTalk after I last synced it. But uninstalling the app didn't fix my problem.

Default I had same problem once

and I just bought a new syncing cable. That seemed to fix it.
Then I had a problem where NOTHING usb would work on my computer. I had to have a chat with HP tech support and be talked through deleting some files. The HP then re-installed them when I rebooted.

I hope this helps.

I had the exact same problem and ended up exchanging it with Qwest. Not sure what I would have done if it had been out of the Qwest warranty period.
