Any Internet application will use data (E-mail, IMs, Web browsing, streaming, etc.). Of course, your bill will depend on how much you use (which none of us can predict) and what the data rates are. Basic guidelines are text items are pretty cheap (like an occasional E-mail or IM), graphic items cost more (Web pages with pictures) and streaming data or downloading files is probably the most expensive.
