You can create folder shortcuts manually. First create a shortcut to a file in the folder you want, then edit the shortcut (*.lnk) with a text editor. Remove the file name portion and put the corrected length of the new string at the beginning of the string. Save and or rename the link.

Also...

if i reformat my Q, then re-insert an SD card that has installed apps on it from before the reformat, will any of the shortcuts recreate themselves in the start menu? doing this manually could be a huge pain....

Thanks,

Matt

Ok I can't remember the way I used to do it but here's a second way. Create a shortcut x.lnk file with the following text or something similar to point to the dir you want.

40#"\windows\fexplore.exe" "\My Documents\"
