Default Could you and Would you uninstall...

File Manager and WMP
For example if we are all installing Resco and Core Player then why do we also need File Manager and WMP on the phone for - so can we and would you uninstall those.

While I am at it - if the Speed hacks for PIE are so good and make it faster and better - why isn't it the way that it's configured from the manufacturer - I would think they would win more product satisfaction and data use.
There must be a reason why the reg settings are the way they are.

I would venture to say it's similar to why most cable companies put a cap on your cable modem speed. Not because they hate you want want you to pay for the bandwidth, but if you're downloading at 5x the rate of your neighbor, his connection is going to suck. The "slower" IE settings probably put less of a load on the network, so the network can technically handle more people at once. However, since the network handles "burst" traffic wonderfully and continuous traffic horribly, I would think getting it all down over multiple connections would probably work out better for them. But who knows... the settings might be grandfathered from 1x connections in WM2003 for all we know.
