Contacts & Start Menu Vanished !! Help?

Turned on my Q and suddenly all my contacts,my start menu and internet favorites were gone!Luckily my battery pack pro was on allowing me access to a majority of my programs.What has happened?I had accidently moved the DCIM folder now i dont know where it goes.When i turn on my pics & video prgm.The pic of the camera is missing.I know that a hard reset is my only solution, Thus bringing me to my
question on storage and transfer.I do not own a desktop i only have a storage folder on a friends comp.Most of my software i can reload.
Also now i have no internet either.Pretty helpless until i figure out a quick & simple solution.Please help!!
