computer illiterate/MMS question

Hey! I'm brand new to the forum and brand new to the Motorola Q. I actually didn't set out to buy this particular phone, my old phone broke and a former employee of Verizon just happened to be in the store buying a charger for his new phone when he overheard my situation and sold me his old Motorola Q for a great deal. So far I loooove this phone and am having no problems other then this problem with the MMS. I've searched through the forums and I'm sure my question has been answered in more ways then one, but I'm completely computer illiterate so reading through the forums I just found myself completely and utterly confused. In layman's terms- why won't my phone allow me to send or receive MMS messages? "Login Error. Ensure you have the correct login information and try again." With my old phone I had absolutely no problems receiving/sending picture, video, or audio messages to/from other people or my computer. I don't have an internet package with my plan and I don't know if that could even be the problem but if so, I've never had internet in my plan and it's never been a problem before. I just really wanna be able to send and recieve pictures and videos as well as recieve ringtones and save them to my phone. Please let me know what I can do to fix this problem. Thanks!!

You will need a data package to send photos.
Unless something has changed with Verizon that I dont know about.
Im sure more scholarly individuals will chime in.

Well I have unlimited text messaging and picture messaging if that means anything??

if what you're saying is the case and ^ doesn't matter- do I just need to call Verizon and get them to change something? and does that cost extra??

I used to have unlimited txt and pix before I got my Q last May for a birthday present from my son You need a data plan for pix. Did you get your Q at a VZW store? They should have told you data=pix

My daughter has a Q no data but unlimited txt...you cannot get pix with out the data package.

OoO well i'll definately call them! But unlimited picture messaging is included in my plan, so that doesn't apply when you have a Motorola Q?

what about ringtones? I really want to be able to get some ringtones!

download ringtonesat funformobile.com and stick tem in the my documents folder or in the root of your storage card . or use vito ringtone editor to make your own ringtones... and Welcome To E to the Q

Yeah what they said...its always better to search stuff out first. There is much information in here.

my Q is verizon. i had the same questions when i got mine. u need the txt package for txt & all that jazz but the way that the Q transmits the pix, you need a data package. verizon has 2 packages, $30 & $45.
